Winter Olympic Games

The Olympic Winter Games are a major international sport event held once every 4 years, for sports practiced on snow and ice.
This year, the 23rd Winter Olympic Games are being held in Pyeongchang in South Korea. They started on February the 9th and will end on 25th of the same month. There are 92 nations participating with 2920 athletes. There are 102 events held in 15 different sports (Biathlon, Alpine skiing, Bobsled, Figure Skating, Ice Hockey, Ski Jumping…). The slogan is Passion. Connected.
Passion symbolizes PyeongChang as the stage where people can exchange inspirations and experience Korea’s unique hospitality and Olympic spirit. Connected signifies the openness of PyeongChang where all generations can participate regardless of location, through Koreas cutting-edge technology and cultural convergence.
This year there are 71 Slovene athletes presenting our country at the Games.
