On February 14th Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was the target of yet another school mass shooting, which makes it the 18th this year (2018). The person responsible for killing 17 people and injuring many more is Nikolas Cruz who confessed when questioned by the police. This attack has caused uproars and protest all over the country to fight against gun violence.

Schools and colleges have been a target for many years and nothing drastic has been done to protect pupils and teachers. The fact that in America guns can be legally bought by anyone has provoked numerous student protests all over America against gun control. The protests take place in different cities but the latest shooting has lead students to the capital of the United States. Students from different states and cities gathered and protested and held moments of silence for the victims of the Parkland shooting.

Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have been planning an even bigger march on Washington that will be called ”March for Our Lives” and it will be held on 24th March, 2018. They are inviting all people, not just students, to protest against the law that legalizes guns. Their wish is to have more gun control and that schools can remain safe places for students and teachers.
